Ashok Amritraj is teaming with music producer Dave Stewart for the film"Street Dancing." Apparently, it's set in the world of a cutting-edge dance competition in Singapore and New York.
This marks the first project to come out of Amritraj's $75 million fund with Abu Dhabi-based Imagenation and Singapore's MDA.
The film will be directed by Bille Woodruff ("Honey," "Beauty Shop"), from a script by David B. Harris.
Music will be created by Stewart will with A.R. Rahman (the Academy Award-winning composer for the astounding "Slumdog Millionaire").
The story tells of a youth who makes a longshot bid to win a dance contest whose competitors and styles span the globe. Cindy Gomez is set to make her feature film starring debut on the project.
