Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy are in talks to star in “Fury Road,” the new version of the Mel Gibson classic “Mad Max” from writer-director George Miller.
Miller produces with Doug Mitchell. Mel Gibson is not reprising his role as the iconic Max Rockatansky, a hardened former cop in a future plagued by marauding gans and gas shortages.
Tom Hardy will play Max. The British-born actor stole scenes as Handsome Bob in Guy Ritchie’s “RocknRolla” starring Gerard Butler. Hardy received praise for his outstanding performance in Nicolas Windin Refn's "Bronson" which Magnolia Pictures sent out.
