Stanley Tucci will star alongside Cher and Christina Aguilera in Screen Gems' "Burlesque," the musical which Steve Antin is helming.
Antin wrote the screenplay which Susannah Grant ("Charlotte's Web," "Erin Brokovich") revised.
Producing is Donald De Line via his De Line Pictures company and production stars on November 9th. Plan is to release the film on Thanksgiving next year.
Aguilera plays an ambitious girl from a small town with a big voice who gains success in a neo-burlesque club reminiscent of the club in "Cabaret."
Tucci will have the part of the manager of the Sunset Boulevard club who is also the best friend and confidante of former dancer Tess (played by Cher), who takes the young girl under her wing.
This is Cher's first movie starring role in ten years.
