United Artists has picked up rights to develop the popular young-adult novel "The Heartbreakers." They'll be calling the film "Rules of Dating for Teenage Girls."
Jennifer Ross is currently in talks to adapt the screenplay. Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas will produce the film.
Pamela Wells, a journalist-turned-writer wrote "The Heartbreakers." The film would tell of four best friends and their on and off relationships with boys. When a few of the girls are dumped, they put together a set of rules which apparently is sure to snag any man and stop any future break-ups.
There are a few youth-orientated projects being developed at United Artists, one being a remake of "Teen Witch," a supernatural comedy from 1989.
