Kevin Smith's comedy "A Couple of Dicks" has now been titled as "Cop Out." Personally, I think the former title is more like Kevin Smith's slap-in-the-face-style than the latter. Smith revealed the new name of the Warner Bros. Pictures' release prior to the "Cop Out" trailer beginning its debut in front of "Sherlock Holmes."
According to sources, Smith told Entertainment Weekly that the key reason for the switch was that the studio wanted to advertise "Cop Out" on sports programs, however the major networks noted that they couldn't run adverts before 9 p.m. if the film kept the "A Couple of Dicks" title.
"Cop Out" is se to open in February next year and stars Bruce Willis, Tracy Morgan, Seann William Scott, Adam Brody, Jason Lee and Michelle Trachtenberg.
Marc Platt produces with Polly Johnsen and Michael Tadross. Robb and Marc Cullen wrote the screenplay which tells of two cops who track down a stolen baseball card as well as rescue a Mexican beauty and take on money-laundering gangsters.
