DreamWorks Studios and Doubleday have pre-emptively picked up film as well as publishing rights to "Robopocalypse," Daniel H. Wilson's unpublished manuscript which tells of the fate of the human race after a robot uprising occurs.
DreamWorks are fast-tracking development of the project.
The angry-robots story is pretty much over used for the most parts with films like the massively overused "Terminator" series, "I, Robot" and the two "Transformers" films, Wilson, who has an actual Ph.D. in robotics, has, according to sources, grounded his story with a heavy degree of authenticity derived from real robot technology.
"Daniel H. Wilson's cautionary tale of man versus machine grabbed us from the very beginning. Wilson's background in robotics and artificial intelligence grounds his story with a frightening level of realism," said Sourian.
