Dwayne Johnson is in final talks to star in CBS Films' "Faster," an drama actioner directed by Phil Joanou ("Heaven's Prisoners," "Final Analysis").
Joe and Tony Gayton wrote the script about an ex-conman who is out to enact revenge after the death of his brother who was murdered ten years ealier when they were double crossed during a heist.
Apparently, Johnson who has had family comedy hits most recently, takes a step back into a more edgy action film this time around.
Johnson and Joanou worked together in the football drama "Gridiron Gang," released in 2006.
Johnson was last seen in Disney's "Race to Witch Mountain" directed by Andy Fickman ("The Game Plan") and "Get Smart" with Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway.
